Secure your Website with SSL

SSL Certificates create an encrypted connection and establish trust.

One of the integral parts to managing a website or online business, is to create a trusted environment where customers feel confident in sending information or making purchases.

Normally, data sent between browsers and web servers is sent in plain text—leaving you vulnerable to eavesdropping. If an attacker is able to intercept all data being sent between a browser and a web server, they can see and use that information.

SSL Certificates however, establish a secure connection so that sensitive information can be transmitted without risk.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browsers remain private and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers.

How can customers tell if my site is secure?

Internet users have come to associate their online security with the lock icon that comes with an SSL-secured website or green address bar that comes with an Extended Validation SSL-secured website. SSL-secured websites also begin with httpss rather than https.

More recently,  Google Chrome and other browsers are now clearly alerting users if they are on a secure (SSL) or insecure (non SSL) website.  Google have been leading the charge to encrypt the internet to cut down on the risk of spying or interception of communications globally.

Do all types of businesses need an SSL Certificate?

The short answer is YES.

SSL is fast becoming a standard security feature on any website and without it you risk the following –

  • It is possible that anyone eaves-dropping can easily intercept anything submitted to your website.  This includes – passwords, usernames, credit card numbers, sensitive information and documents being submitted to your site by users, visitors, clients / employees.
  • Your Website will display an  ‘Insecure’ warning that could possibly scare users away from your site completely.
  • Websites will soon be penalised for not having SSL and are likely to drop down rank in Google search results which will likely impact your SEO.

Don’t get left behind!  Websites without SSL are fast becoming the minority on the web.

Ensure you protect not only your customers, but your online investment and business today with an SSL Certificate for as little as $249 per year.
